Still Moments

The intricate method of Nerikomi has gradually allowed me to recognize the value of repetitive labour and the time dedicated to the craftwork. Building on my reflections on time, Still Moments is an ongoing project since 2024 that attempts to hold onto moments and emotions that might otherwise be lost.
Individually crafted nerikomi ceramic slabs are assembled with metal strings to form a large-scale hanging installation. Suspended in space, hundreds of ceramic elements suggest movement without actual motion. The title Still Moments reflects this tension — inviting the viewer to pause and encounter a fleeting sense of connection.
